Your stay is at Karen Blixen Camp which is strategically positioned along the Mara River. Named after the Danish author of ‘Out of Africa”, the camp offers guests a unique opportunity to relive the golden era of the safari with elegance, first class comforts and the finest cuisine surrounded by the spectacle of the great African wilderness.
Activities include day and night game drives within the Mara North Conservancy where the camp is located. At an extra charge it is possible to book a guided nature walk, hot air balloon safari, bush breakfast and sundowners.
Children are welcome at this camp making this an ideal safari choice for families.
The baggage allowance for your flight to the Mara is strictly 15kgs in soft bags inclusive of hand luggage and cameras.
Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Diani Beach - Maasai Mara
This morning you will be transferred to Ukunda airstrip for your scheduled flight to Maasai Mara departing at 08h00.
On arrival at the airstrip you will be met by a resident guide from Karen Blixen.
Enjoy a short game drive to the Camp where you arrive in time for lunch. After lunch there’s time to relax or take a swim before you embark on a 4pm game drive in search of the big five. Return to camp to freshen up before dinner.

Day 2 - 4 : Maasai Mara
Depending on your preference, there are a couple of options in regards to how your days will be structured. At an extra cost, you can book a Hot air balloon safari or a walking safari which offers you the opportunity to focus on the smaller details and ecosystems of the bush while at the same time achieving the thrill of stalking larger game on foot.
Despite sharing a vehicle on game package, the camp will do everything to make sure that your ideal structure is met.

Day 5: Maasai Mara – Diani Beach
Embark on an early morning game drive returning back to the camp for breakfast. Spend the rest of the morning relaxing and enjoying the view round the camp before departing to the airstrip for your light aircraft departing at 14.00hrs to Diani Beach. On arrival at the Ukunda airstrip, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
