A Kenyan safari makes a great holiday for a family-there’s so much to see and do for each and every member. From swimming in the pool or a waterfall, exploring the African bush on foot, riding on horses, learning how to make fire, interacting and dancing with Maasai warriors or watching the big five from the safety of your safari vehicle, this safari package has plenty of fun filled activities to offer for children of all ages as well as adults.
First night is spent at the elegant Giraffe Manor. Home to the Rothschild’s giraffes, the manor offers a unique yet wild experience like no other. Here you and the kids can hand feed the giraffes at close range. Although the giraffes are gentle , they are wild therefore interaction with them at any given time is not guaranteed.
Next stop is Borana Conservancy, the most exclusive places to safari in Kenya. It is located at the foot of Mount Kenya just North of the equator, resting on the Laikipia Plateau. The privately owned conservancy is home to a great population of black and white rhinos.
Here you will spend 3 nights at Borana Lodge, home to the Dyer Family for 3 generations. You’ll also experience the inspiration behind Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ and visit the original Pride Rock.
Borana is known for its wide range of safari activities including horseback riding, game drives, guided walks, mountain biking, quad biking, fishing, or a visit to the Ngare Ndare forest for a canopy walk over the forest elephants and a swim in the waterfall.
The Conservancy also shares traversing rights with the neighboring Lewa Conservancy, allowing guests to go on game drives there as well. If you are looking to break the twice daily game drive routine, this is the place to be.
Finally, the Safari ends in the Masai Mara’s North Conservancy where you will stay at Mara Bush Houses or Acacia house depending on the size of your family.
Experience peace and tranquility away from the most-visited parts of the Mara. Waterbuck and zebra wander into the grounds to graze, while lion, leopard and cheetah prowl the plains of the community-owned conservancy.
As the houses are exclusive-use properties, you’re free to design your own itinerary. Choose to sleep in and enjoy a leisurely breakfast on your deck or head out early to watch the sunrise in the bush. Stay out all day or spend the afternoon lazing around the pool with a cold drink and a good book. It’s your safari.
We guarantee you that this family adventure will leave your family with experiences and memories that will last for a life time.
